The skyline of Panama City is almost unbelievable. Modern to the extreme, it feels more like Miami than Central America. The towers are sky-high, gleaming, and covered in glass. The skyline is at once inspiring, fascinating, and inconsistent with life on the ground.
Regardless, an instant favourite building emerged from the skyline. “That twirly building” became the sought after edificio, the one whose eye we were always trying to catch.
We eventually met up with “El Tornillo” and got a few up-skirt photos, including this favourite, framed by palm trees and blue sky.

I had no idea this existed! when you say it’s like Miami do you mean the food, climate, culture … or all the above? Do you mean South Beach or more La Calle 8 or Little Havana? I’ve never been to Panama but it looks interesting. Do you have any other pics? If you do, are you going to post them? I’d love to see them
When I say Miami, all I mean is the skyline…sort of the climate. Nothing else, really. I’ll definitely be doing more posts and putting more photos up – I just got back, and hope to have another post up by the end of the week. Thanks for reading!
Oh wow I don’t remember this building but it looks great. Nice shot.
Thanks! It’s in Obarrio on Calle 50 near Calle 56 or so. Obarrio is mostly commerce/business, but our friend lives there, so we wandered around the area quite a bit.
Lovely! I’m dying to make it to Panama!
It’s a good city to visit for a couple days – I wouldn’t stay much longer than that. The rest of the country has some great stuff to explore, though. Use the city as a jumping off point for places like Boquete and Bocas del Toro.
